Question:
What will I need to do on a weekly basis?
Answer:
Once you have chosen your MiLife programmeprogram and the longer term targets that you want to achieve, MiLife will break this down into weekly "bite-size" targets. Each week, through wearing the MiBand, which records your weight and activity daily, you can see how you are doing against these weekly targets, keeping you on track to meet your longer term goal. MiLife will coach you through this process weekly and recommend the right online and offline tools from your MiLife pack to help you achieve your targets.
Question:
Will it keep my interest?
Answer:
Our previous research showed that over 80% of people on MiLife stayed with the programmeprogram and became a lot more active, increasing their activity level by more than 2 hours per week.
Question:
Can I print off the activity plan or meal plan, so I can stick it on my fridge?
Answer:
Any page from the MiLife site can be printed off. Go to your browser menu and click on file, select print, print preferences and select landscape to ensure the whole page is printed off.
Question:
Can I share my experiences with other users of MiLife?
Answer:
You can share your experiences with other MiLife users by posting a message on the message board. This is also a great way of getting new hints and tips to meet your targets.
The online coaching system
Question:
What happens in the weekly online coaching session?
Answer:
At the start of each week, MiLife will take you through an online coaching session which follows three stages; Review, Plan and Do. During the coaching session you'll 'Review' what happened last week and 'Plan' for the coming week. During the week you should complete the 'Do' activities in your list. Research has shown that if you regularly review your own progress and achievements then it increases your positive mental attitude and spurs you on towards the next week.
MiBand
Question:
What is MiBand and what does it measure?
Answer:
MiBand measures movement in three dimensions, giving a detailed understanding of your physical activity. While a pedometer just measures a 'step', MiBand shows the intensity and amount of physical activity. The MiBand is at its best with aerobic activity.
Question:
Do I have to wear the MiBand all the time?
Answer:
The more you wear the band, the more activity will be recorded. Remember everything counts, even the last minute dash for the bus!
Smart Scales/weighing
Question:
Can other people use my Smart Scales?
Answer:
Anybody else can use your Smart Scales to weigh themselves. They will require their own unique MiBand to capture their data. MiLife offers a 'MiBand only pack' which is perfect for additional users within the household.
Question:
Do I need to weigh myself?
Answer:
You will get your Smart Scales in your MiLife pack which you can use to weigh yourself. In weight management modes we recommend weighing yourself everyday so that your online coaching system can adjust for the daily weight fluctuations that we all have and give you really smart feedback on your progress each week. If you have a pacemaker it is advised you do not use the Smart Scales.
The programmeprogram
Question:
If I sign up to, say, a weight loss programmeprogram, can I change my mind and try a different programmeprogram later?
Answer:
You can change your programmeprogram anytime, however this will change the likelihood of you achieving your long-term goals. We recommend that any programmeprogram you do, try it for at least a few weeks as you may find it gets easier.

What programmeprograms are available through MiLife?
Answer:
MiLife has been designed to help you manage your everyday physical activity, nutrition and body weight. MiLife offers a coaching system for people who want to lose weight, maintain weight or just want to become more active and break bad habits.
Physical activity
Question:
How do I find out how much physical activity I've done?
Answer:
The amount of physical activity is displayed through the MiLife website. The information is easily displayed as a weekly total of minutes. There is also the option to display the data through charts, allowing an easier comparison of individual activities.
Question:
Can I label my activity charts with different activities?
Answer:
You can do this by planning activities in advance using the online planner. A long list of activities is available for you to chose from, ...even zorbing!
Question:
Is there any such thing as too much physical activity?
Answer:
Yes, it is possible to do too much. Remember to spread your exercise across the week, always listen to your body and know your own limits.
Question:
I want to be more active but I just can't seem to find the time. Can MiLife help me with overcoming some of the barriers to doing more activity?
Answer:
Thinking about solutions that allow you to fit more activity into your busy life can be difficult. MiLife tracks activity constantly so you will find that you will be able to increase your activity levels in everyday life without costing you time. As for planning exercise, MiLife also offers many different solutions for a range of problems you may face to make this happen.
Security
Question:
If I leave my PC unattended will my session with MiLife time out?
Answer:
Your session on MiLife will time out after a few minutes of the keyboard or mouse not being used. Your data will be saved and you can log back in as usual from the log-in screen.
Question:
How are my personal details protected?
Answer:
MiLife is a secure password protected site, each user has their own unique password.
Question:
Can others see my personal levels of activity?
Answer:
No one else can see your personal data unless you share it with them. You may find that your results are something you want to shout about!
Food
Question:
Do I need to monitor my food or calorie intake?
Answer:
If you choose to use MiLife to help change your weight, it is recommended you use the food diary both online and on paper to record how many calories you eat each day. Research has shown that the closer you monitor what you eat, the more likely you are to lose weight and keep it off. However, rather than record calories in detail every day of every week, MiLife want you to learn about the calories you eat and strategies to control them. For calories you do record we have made it easy to simply text MiLife your meals when you have them.
Question:
Will I be required to plan my meals?
Answer:
It's not compulsory but planning meals is the best way to keep control of your calorie intake during the week. If you don't know what you're going to eat on a daily basis, then there's a good chance you'll buy something on impulse which will be high in calories! If you can't face planning the whole week then start with planning just one day and build up from there. MiLife provides 1,000 recipes which are all calorie counted.
